Fayetteville Liberty Professional Basketball Team Set to Launch Inaugural Season at the Crown Complex Arena in 2026

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Fayetteville Liberty Professional Basketball Team Set to Launch Inaugural Season at the Crown Complex Arena in 2026

Fayetteville, NC – The City of Fayetteville is officially welcoming a new era of professional basketball as the Fayetteville Liberty, a franchise of The Basketball League (TBL), prepares to launch its inaugural season in March 2026.

With the vision of “Building Hope in the Community One Possession at a Time,” the Liberty are more than a basketball team—they are a movement of service, inspiration, and community-building.

A Team for the City, By the City

Led by Team Market Owner Robert L. Edwards Jr., the Fayetteville Liberty will play their home games at the Crown Complex Arena, competing against teams across the country in The Basketball League. Fayetteville’s growing sports culture—home to the Woodpeckers (MiLB) and Marksmen (hockey)—will now add professional basketball as a pillar of its entertainment and tourism economy.

“Our mission is bigger than basketball,” said Edwards. “The Liberty will not only bring high-level professional sports to Fayetteville but also create opportunities for youth, families, and businesses to thrive. This team belongs to our city.”

Hope.Community & Liberty City Ambassadors

The Liberty’s community outreach is anchored by the Hope.Community initiative and the Liberty City Ambassadors Program (LCAP). These programs focus on:

  • Free Youth Camps: Hosting basketball and leadership camps for more than 200+ kids annually.
  • Scholar of the Year Awards: Recognizing students across elementary, middle, and high school who exemplify excellence, leadership, and service.
  • School Day Game: A one-of-a-kind educational and inspirational gameday experience at the Crown Coliseum for students across Cumberland County and beyond.
  • Community Givebacks: Supporting local schools, non-profits, and events such as Alpha Academy, United Way, Dogwood Festival, and more.

Business & Economic Impact

The Fayetteville Liberty have already attracted corporate and community partnerships with leading businesses and organizations including Caviness & Cates, Wawa, Tropical Smoothie Café, Shuttle Buddy, Jerome Scott Insurance, Build Better Youth, Distinctly Fayetteville, PWC and the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce. Sponsorship packages range from small-business collaborations to full arena branding opportunities.

“Professional basketball in Fayetteville means more jobs, more events, and more opportunities for local businesses to connect with fans,” said General Manager Tiras Ray. “Our partnership strategy ensures that the Liberty serve as both an entertainment powerhouse and a community growth engine.”

Press Conference & Season Preparation

The Fayetteville Liberty will host their official press conference on December 12, 2025 at the Crown Complex Arena to formally introduce the team, announce key partners, and share the vision for the 2026 inaugural season.

Following the press conference, the team will hold its final player combine and flagship tryout on December 13, 2025, where players will compete for roster spots ahead of training camp. The finalized roster will take the court in March 2026 for the start of the Liberty’s first TBL season.

Maya Florido Awarded Scholarship from E.E. Smith Alumni Sports Hall of Fame, Inc.

FAYETTEVILLE, NC – September 15, 2025The E.E. Smith Alumni Sports Hall of Fame, Inc. Powered by Jerome Scott The Insurance Guy and Covington Insurance, LLC proudly announced that recent high school graduate and standout softball player Maya Florido has been awarded a scholarship as she begins her college journey. The award reflects the Hall of Fame’s ongoing mission to support young student-athletes in pursuit of academic and athletic excellence.

Maya, described by her family and mentors as fun, bubbly, and hardworking, has already demonstrated a strong commitment to both education and athletics. A graduate with a passion for science, she developed a special interest in chemistry during her high school years, crediting the engaging instruction of her teacher, Linda Jarman, for sparking her enthusiasm in the subject. This academic foundation is serving as a launchpad for her future studies.

With the help of the Hall of Fame scholarship, Maya is now an incoming freshman at Fayetteville Technical Community College, where she plans to pursue a two-year degree in medical sonography. After completing the program, she intends to continue her education by majoring in business administration at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (NC A&T). This dual focus reflects her long-term vision of combining health sciences with entrepreneurial ambition.

The recognition came during an interview conducted by ShaDonna “Mo” McPhaul, Public Relations Director for the E.E. Smith Alumni Sports Hall of Fame, Inc. McPhaul highlighted not only Maya’s athletic achievements on the softball field but also her determination to balance academics, athletics, and personal goals. She underscored the role of public relations in amplifying stories like Maya’s, ensuring that young scholars receive recognition for their accomplishments and encouragement to continue striving toward success.

“Maya represents the very best of what we hope to see in our scholarship recipients,” said McPhaul. “She is committed to excellence, dedicated to her studies, and full of promise. We are excited to celebrate her as she begins this new chapter and to share her story with the community.”

Maya’s mother expressed pride in her daughter’s achievements and encouraged her to keep applying for scholarships as a way to build financial support for her education and future plans. The scholarship not only helps offset the cost of tuition but also supports Maya’s personal goals, such as saving toward her first car, which will provide her with greater independence as she balances school and extracurricular commitments.

The E.E. Smith Alumni Sports Hall of Fame, Inc. has a long tradition of honoring and supporting student-athletes. By awarding scholarships, the organization continues to invest in the next generation of leaders who carry forward the legacy of determination, discipline, and community involvement associated with E.E. Smith High School and its alumni network.

As Maya begins her college career, she stands as an inspiration for current students and alumni alike. Her story reflects the values of perseverance, academic curiosity, and community spirit that the Hall of Fame seeks to recognize and uplift.

Noah Jaghori: The Silent Storm Set to Shake Up MMA Once Again

blank

The fight world thrives on hype, yet Noah Jaghori has built his legend in silence. An undefeated martial artist with a record of 8-0-1, Jaghori is as elusive outside the cage as he is inside it. No social media antics, no pre-fight theatrics—just pure combat.

For years, Jaghori has remained an enigma, avoiding media spotlights and letting his performances speak for themselves. His rare appearance on the BLATANT Podcast offered the only glimpse into his mindset—a strategic and philosophical approach to fighting that rejects the influencer-driven spectacle of modern MMA. Since then, speculation has run rampant. Training footage leaks, cryptic negotiations, and whispers of a comeback have fueled anticipation.

Now, the rumors have weight. All signs point to June 6th as the date of his return. Fans and analysts are divided—has the sport evolved past him, or has he been refining his already lethal arsenal in the shadows? One thing is certain: if Jaghori fights, he headlines.

Beyond the Cage: Jaghori’s Next Big Move

While his return to MMA remains one of the sport’s biggest unanswered questions, Jaghori has not been idle. Behind closed doors, he has been leading Blokora, a VC-backed crypto agency revolutionizing blockchain applications. With a focus on custom token creation, secure crypto reserves, and NFT-based employee ID systems, Blokora is already gaining traction among high-profile investors.

From the octagon to the boardroom, Jaghori approaches every endeavor with the same discipline and precision that made him a dominant force in combat sports. His transition into tech has drawn comparisons to elite athlete-entrepreneurs who have successfully navigated the business world.

The Most Mysterious Fighter in MMA Returns?

With June 6th fast approaching, the questions loom. Can Jaghori reclaim his dominance? Is he still the sport’s best-kept secret, or is he MMA’s greatest “what-if”?

Whatever happens next, Noah Jaghori doesn’t follow the game—he changes it. And if history has shown anything, it’s that you never see him coming.
