Flatline is certainly not your ordinary Multi-Format Club DJ. Inspired by a diverse taste in music, he spins and produces it all. Flatline separates himself from other Club DJs by his inoculate fusion of genres that creates a new, invigorating and exciting sound.

What started as a fun hobby has evolved into a passion for music and entertainment. At the age of 13, Flatline was introduced to his first experience with DJ’s. He went to an under 21 club and was amazed at how the DJs controlled and inspired the crowds through music. Soon after he found himself in the DJ booth watching and learning the art of DJ-ing until he was given his moment to shine.

Quickly his career flourished as he found himself as a turntablist for both upcoming and national artists. Developing his own style he has established himself performing all over the country. Currently, he holds five resident spots in Orlando, FL while working toward a Doctorate in Music Theory and Composition.

This year American Happy Hour and Graffiti Junktion are happy to announce that DJ Flent Duncan is back. This will be DJ Flent Duncan’s 5th-year performance at the Thornton Park New Year’s Eve Block Party. “Flent is a crowd favorite in Orlando and our guests always request to have him back” Ross B. Flent Duncan also known as DJ Flent D is a veteran dj of all genres. He began his career using the industry-standard Technics 1200’s then moved to the Pioneer CDJ’s during the age of CDs and digital downloads. The technology presented Flent with an opportunity to go back to his passion for the Technics 1200. He was enabled to combine old with new. 

This breakthrough allowed Flent to diversify his music selection at events.

Williams founder of American Happy Hour has been hosting this event with Graffiti Junktion for 12 years. Each year Ross, along with Graffiti Junktion strives to make it better than the last one.

Ross started the idea of American Happy Hour 12 years ago by hosting Saturday college football tailgate parties at the original Graffiti Junktion in Thornton Park. “Little did we know then that our Saturday football party would grow into Orlando’s biggest New Year’s Eve event,” Ross said. “This New Year’s Eve event started as just a small party on the patio of Graffiti Junktion. Over the years it became more and more popular, and we continued to make it bigger and bigger each year. “

Businesses in North Carolina have been updating their face mask rules following Gov. Roy Cooper’s announcement that lifted most mandates for face coverings. It means that in most settings — indoors or outdoors — the state no longer requires North Carolinians to be socially distanced or wear a face mask.

However, Cooper said some restaurants, other businesses, and venues may continue to have restrictions or mask requirements but are no longer mandated to do so.

At Alpha Dawgs, we are still concerned for our employees’ and customers’ safety and are still requiring masks. We believe in putting safety before profits and realize that some may not agree with our stance and respect their right to do so. As a local restaurant that has felt the devastating economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on our business, we don’t believe political attacks concerning this issue accomplish anything positive for the community.
