It will find you,” she adds, “It’s important to remember that challenge is a natural and important part of our lives. Just because you encounter a challenge doesn’t mean you did something wrong. It also doesn’t mean the world did something wrong to you.”

Question #2 – Ask “What’s My Underlying Fear?” Next, Rosenblum encourages people to dig deeper and identify the fears or limiting beliefs underlying their situation. These hidden fears can often be invisible but profoundly influence decisions. “Thoughts that create OR-living are powered by fear. They tell you that you are limited, broken, or unworthy. We have to see these thoughts clearly before we can break their spell. When we’re honest about our fears, we reveal the OR-thinking that has kept us from pursuing our dreams,” she says.

Question #3 – Ask “What’s Actually True?” The third question cuts right to the heart of the matter. People can believe all kinds of lies and feed all sorts of distortions. In the end, they need to discover what is actually true. “Shifting from OR-thinking to AND-thinking is simple but not easy. This question is impossible to answer from the head; we have to move down to the heart. If you try to engage with the third question from OR-thinking, you will fail. However, the moment you stop listening to OR a private and receptive space emerges. The answers that emerge transform AND-thinking into AND-living and lead to asking the fourth question.”

Question #4 – Ask “What Now?” This final question helps people make the shift from possibility to action. “The answer to the fourth question is often unexpected and helps you see the bigger picture. We don’t actually need to resolve all of our internal tensions and limitations before living an AND-life,” Rosenblum advises. “Sometimes, it’s enough to imagine the choice we might make, or the life we might lead, if we believed in the possibility. Once you see it, you are free to make any choice and move forward in a new way.”

Rosenblum takes a deeper dive into the four-question framework in her book, AND: The Tiny Word That Can Radically Transform Your Life, offering practical guidance on how to apply it to both everyday challenges and life’s bigger decisions.
